This will have to be short he said, and she nodded her head knowingly.

Half way through every academic quarter for the last 14 months I have said to myself, “I can’t wait for this quarter to be over,” and then of course, it is. Just in time for the next quarter to begin, starting out easily enough before it gets to be bowel-stewingly difficult again right about mid-term.
Which is where I am right now, with the added benefit of having spent two weeks TAD forward, and being so far behind that I can’t even see myself in the rear view mirror.
Systems Optimization it is, summing over indices and for eaches, Excel spreadsheets on steroids and actual algebra, which if you haven’t had a crack at that in a while it’s a rude surprise to discover, 30-odd years on, that you’re no damned smarter than you used to be, aged 15.
There is also another course, of which said the less, the better. Apart from the fact that the prof is the kind of army guy that makes navy guys glad of their service preference.
It’ll be over in a little less than a year, one way or t’other, and we have come so far that go back were as tedious as go o’er, etc.
Ain’t got no quit.

We have (as I believe I may have mentioned) a new cat – a kitten actually – which, being as it is a replacement for at least one of the two spoken for by the back yard coyotes, is not a positively accruing kitten, but rather an integer replacement, like. Gray it is, and anyone who is not irretrievably opposed to the species (not to mention the gender) would admit him a limited degree of attractiveness. And as to, it must be admitted that, coming as he has from a shelter, he has all the burdens of his gender with none of the benefits, those having been medically denied to him. “Rebel” I offered as his name, if “Mosby” seemed too much of a stretch.
Gonzo, is he y-clept, that having been the decision of the teenaged set. Not that it matters anyway, cats coming and going pretty much at their own volition, no matter how heavily you call after them.
This was meant to be a daughter’s kitten, but somehow it sleeps upon the linen of your very own correspondent, and in fact has a lamentable habit of sitting upon his keyboard, while he’s busy tapping away at it. Doesn’t matter how much it purrs, that’s an off-putting characteristic for the cat of a blogger.

So far as I can determine, Phil’s BBQ is the best place for ribs here in Sandy Eggo. In the Mission Hills district it is, and come early for lunch or be prepared to spend a fair amount of time getting in the place, and twice as much again waiting to be fed. Worth waiting for.

To be filed under the category of a guy who doesn’t get out enough:
A Sydney Muslim leader has apologised for making controversial comments that rape victims had no-one to blame but themselves.
But the apology came as Lebanese Sheik Faiz Mohamad appeared to insist that rape victims were still “partly” accountable for what happened to them.
Sheik Mohamad, 34, has admitted to telling a lecture in Bankstown, in Sydney’s south west, that women who wore skimpy clothing encouraged men to rape them.
NSW Premier Bob Carr condemned the religious leader’s comments and said he would approach the Community Relations Commission to provide him counselling.
But the sheik backed away from his earlier comments, claiming he had been misunderstood and had made a mistake.
Yah, it’s a subtle point. It’s easy to be misunderstood.

Rack time. Sufficient to the day the evil thereof.
Y’all have a great weekend.
