Yes, this is one of those days.

Update: I didn’t have the heart nor the time to tilt at HuffPo windmills during my leave o’ absence. Fortunately for all of us, Noonan was not so constrained.

I think there was a tacit presumption all the way around that one of the market advantages of blogging was that the writer, having to actually write things down – as opposed to beerily barking at passersby from a dimly lit barstool somewhere – would be held accountable for the things that he’d, you know: Written. And that such accountability would necessarily force him to do some research if the field he was wandering onto was not an area of special expertise.

Not so much.
